In partnership with the International Legal Assistance Consortium (ILAC), this brief highlights how support to rule of law and justice in situations of conflict and fragility could benefit from integrating politically smart and adaptive approaches, to ensure that interventions contribute to real and lived change for all. The objective of this paper is to review what this means in practice for justice and rule of law policy makers and practitioners, taking stock of ILAC’s own experiences in this regard.
