Today the US Supreme Court has made the decision to remove the federally protected and constitutional right to abortion in the USA. But the implications of the Roe vs Wade decision will reach beyond any one group of people or nation.
We cannot underestimate what this means for reproductive justice, democracy and human rights. It is a stark reminder of the fragility of recent progress we have seen around the world, and the might of authoritarian forces.
Feminist movements are already mobilising and will be a lifeline to those who will now face a choice between life and death. But this historic moment should be a wake-up call for us all.

In moments like these, I can't but express my anger & fear for what is to come. The overturning of #RoevWade is a sign of what can happen when intl. actors fail to raise the alarm. #SCOTUS decision is all the evidence we need to know hard-won #rights are by no means guaranteed.🧵
