This briefing paper summarises the aims of the Overseas Development Bill, currently in its second reading in parliament. The Bill relates to the Commonwealth Development Corporation (CDC) and has two purposes. The first is to raise the limits of the CDC's outstanding borrowing from the Treasury and other sources. The second is to allow the CDC to operate in more countries than at present.
