Kevin Rombo

Portrait of Kevin Rombo

Kevin Rombo is a Research Economist by training with extensive expertise in economic development work, research, policy analysis and academia. He is currently the Manager-Research and Learning at TradeMark Africa (TMA) where he is leading the research agenda across TMA’s portfolio of 11 counties in Africa.

Kevin is majorly involved in designing methodology for research studies and evaluations, coordinating, and managing data collection and data management, and writing research pieces on topical issues centred on the trade-macroeconomics-poverty nexus relevant to TMA’s work.

Previously he served as a Technical Expert-Economic Advisor Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) and Research and Evaluation Advisor with SNV Netherlands Development Organization in Kenya implementing FCDO/DFID and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands-funded Kenya Market Assistance Programme (KMAP) focusing on promoting the adoption of Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) in the Kenyan Water Sector at the Kenyan National Ministry of Water.

In Academia, he taught at the Strathmore University Business School and the Department of Economics, at Moi University. Kevin holds a Masters and a bachelor’s in economics degrees from Moi University, Kenya. He has attended an intensive PhD Fellowship course on advanced impact evaluation methods on Land Economics and Governance from the University of Cape Town, South Africa and a course on Econometrics of Cross-section Data from the Barcelona School of Economics in Spain.
