Aaso Ameen Shwan is a co-director, researcher and analyst at Social Inquiry with background in political science and international relations and expertise in the governance of disputed territories, forced displacement, power-sharing, electoral politics, geopolitical/cross-border issues, and conflict and security. He has extensive knowledge of the Iraq context and has conducted in-depth qualitative research and policy analysis, journalistic reportage, and technical advising across Federal Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, within research experience in the wider region include Northeast Syria as well as in Sudan. He holds a B.A. in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Gothenburg.
