All-Party Parliamentary Group on Trade out of Poverty
Who we are
The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Trade Out of Poverty (APPG-TOP) is a cross-party group of Members of Parliament and Peers who share a common interest in helping developing countries achieve inclusive growth and prosperity through sustainable trade and investment.
We organise seminars, inquiries, research, and education campaigns to raise awareness in Parliament on removing barriers to trade and using trade as an engine for sustainable development.
The Group is currently chaired by Theo Clarke MP, with Lord Purvis of Tweed serving as Co-Chair.
ODI, the global affairs think tank, became the Group secretariat in May 2023 with Dr Dirk Willem te Velde serving as Director.
Officers
The APPG on Trade Out of Poverty held its last AGM on 22 May 2023. The AGM saw the election of the APPG’s officers by the members and the agreement on thematic focus areas for the year ahead.
