Surendra Kumar Uprety, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He has worked as the senior economic advisor to the Government of Nepal's Ministry of Finance and has contributed as an Expert Committee Member of the Karnali Provincial Government, Nepal.

Uprety has also held roles as an Energy Economist in the public and private sector as and a Social Safeguard Specialist for Nepalese public infrastructure projects.
