Sean Fox is an Associate Professor in Global Development at the University of Bristol and a Fellow at the Alan Turing Institute. His research explores the causes and consequences of global urbanization, the political economy of urban governance, contentious politics and conflict, and sustainable city futures. He holds degrees in economics and literature from the University of California Santa Cruz, and completed MSc and PhD degrees in the Department of International Development at the London School of Economics. He is co-author of the book Cities and Development (Routledge 2016) and has served as an advisor on urban development issues for a range of organisations including Department for International Development (DFID), UN-HABITAT, UN Economic Commission for Africa, and the World Bank.
