Research Fellow

Portrait of Elizabeth Carabine
Elizabeth is a Research Fellow in the ODI’s Risk and Resilience Programme. She has 12 years of experience in research, policy and practice gained in the private and public sectors. Her focus is on climate change adaptation, risk governance, pastoralism and resilient livestock systems and value chains in East Africa, the Sahel and Central Asia.

With an interdisciplinary background, Elizabeth applies systems thinking in developing new analytical tools and approaches for understanding and managing multiple drivers of risk in the contexts of arid and semi-arid lands, marginalised local economies and slow-onset drought conditions. She has worked with a range of local and national government actors, regional bodies, UN agencies, civil society and practitioners on these issues.
