Sergio Jarillo

Environmental justice, Equitable societies

Sergio Jarillo is an anthropologist researching climate change adaptation practices in SIDS. He has carried out fieldwork in atoll islands in Papua New Guinea, Mozambique and the Republic of the Marshall Islands, using ethnographic and participatory approaches to explore the intersections between globalisation, (im)material culture, social and climate change and the behavioural ecology of human emotions. He is currently Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the ARC-funded project Future Islands: Catalysing Solutions To Climate Change In Low-Lying Islands at The University of Melbourne.
