Rachel is the former Dean of Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University. This made her the 14th Dean, and the first woman to serve in that role at the United States’ first graduate school of international affairs. Rachel was also previously appointed the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General (UNSG), CEO of Sustainable Energy for All, Vienna, New York and Washington and Group Vice President and Special Envoy for Climate Change at World Bank Group.

Rachel has and currently still sits on multiple Boards and Advisory Committees, including G20 Expert Working Group on MDB Reform, Voluntary Carbon Markets Integrity Initiative, Private Infrastructure Development Group Ltd, HSES committee and Beyond Net Zero Fund. Rachel has also received multiple awards and recognitions, including Companion (the Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George) for services to climate change and energy and Time Magazine, 15 women who will change the world.
