Oluwasola Omoju

Oluwasola Omoju was a Research Associate in the Climate and Sustainability programme working on energy transitions, sustainable finance and climate-compatible trade. 

Before joining ODI, Sola worked as an economist and research fellow in the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) in Nigeria, where he provided analytical support and policy advice on keypieces of energy and climate legislation. He has had visiting research positions in Ethiopia, Austria and France, and has led several high-impact externally funded research projects. His areas of interest include energy and climate change policy, Africa trade policy (with specific reference to the African Continental Free Trade Area), public financial management, and applied development economics.

Sola holds a PhD in Applied Economics (with a specialisation in energy economics) from Xiamen University in China. Prior to that, he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria and a Master's degree in Economics from the University of Lagos, Nigeria.
