Heba El-Kholy

Heba is currently a supervisory board member and advisor for several organizations. She has over 20 years of leadership experience in both the multilateral and civil society sectors. Her experience spans multiple complex conflicts, including Sudan, Yemen, Afghanistan and the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Joining the UN’s largest development network, UNDP, as Policy Advisor in NY in 1998, she became its first woman Country Director in Sudan in 2003. She was the United Nations first female Resident Coordinator in Tunisia, leading the UN's policy dialogue on climate change, inequality, and human rights, and the first woman Director of UNDP's Global Governance Center in Oslo where she is credited for strengthening its partnerships and role as a thought leader. A Chevening Scholar, Heba holds a Ph.D. in Social Anthropology from SOAS.
