The number of Regional Trade Agreements (RTAs) has increased dramatically over the past decade. There have been few attempts to systematically map the linkages between RTAs and poverty, and fewer that assess the impact of RTAs from a poor country perspective. Based largely on a research project on 'Regional Integration and Poverty', this seminar will examine these issues by considering conceptual issues, negotiation issues and econometric and case study evidence.
