Globalisation and Education is a hotly debated topic covering various issues ranging from GATS, Education for All, brain drain, ability to adjust to and facilitate trade and investment, to building up national identities. The topic is approached from different perspectives including by educational specialists and development economists. This seminar brought together these two perspectives, with an emphasis on assessing the links between human resource development and foreign direct investment, and included a case study of South Africa.
