Pro-poor analysis of the Rwandan tourism value chain: An emerging picture and some strategic approaches for enhancing poverty impacts
This project makes recommendations on strategic approaches to increasing the benefits to the poor from tourism growth in two areas of Rwanda: business tourism in mid/up-market hotels in Kigali; and gorilla-viewing tourism around Parc National de Volcans and Ruhengeri. It is being undertaken for the Rwandan government, which has set ambitious targets for tourism growth and its development impact, and for the Netherlands Development Organisation (SNV) which aims to enhance poverty impacts of tourism.
