The primary goal of the LGI Policy Fellowship programme is to support policy research aimed at stimulating creative policy recommendations related to various areas of governance and the provision of public services.

The overarching objectives of the project are to:

1. Better understand policy processes in Eastern Europe (How transparent is this process? How are key issues put on the policy agenda? How are policy implementation tools and methods designed? Is there any post evaluation or feedback on policy actions?)
   
2. Identify the influence of different actors on policy processes (How do the various actors influence public policies? How does the political cycle influence policy making? Why and when can some interest groups increase their lobbying capacity?)
   
3. Make suggestions for how policy processes can be improved.
