The gender audits of the UNICEF Burkina Faso and Mali country offices, on behalf of the UNICEF West and Central Africa Regional Office (WCARO), analyze the extent to which gender analysis techniques and rights considerations are mainstreamed and operationalized in UNICEF’s policies, programming, and organization.  It also assesses staff capacity to mainstream gender, and the degree to which staff are held accountable for mainstreaming gender into programmes and improving development outcomes through use of gender analysis, particularly for girls and women. This analysis is used to formulate an action plan for the country offices to improve gender analysis and gender mainstreaming across programmes and institutionally.
