Laia is a Policy Analyst for ODI Europe, coordinating the Africa-Europe relationship engagement and communication in and between cities for the Africa-Europe Mayors’ Dialogue.

Prior to joining ODI, Laia ran the international operations and project management of a cybersecurity tech start-up safeguarding children online. She also has experience with the Centre for Feminist Foreign Policy (CFFP), where she collaborated in the design of an Intersectional Lens in Cybersecurity Ethics toolkit for the UK Government.

Laia previously worked for the Delegation of the Government of Catalonia in Brussels, where she analysed the EU legislative procedures for the EU Parliament Committees of Gender Equality, Migration & Home Affairs, Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid, and International Cooperation & Development. Additionally, she monitored the European Parliament development impact and activities on cross-cutting EU policy issues.

Laia holds an MSc in Emerging Economies and International Development from King’s College London with a specialisation in displacement and forced migration. She focused on climate change-forced displacement and conflict-induced migration in Africa.
