Adriana Quevedo

Senior Research Officer

  • Global Risks and Resilience
Portrait of Adriana Quevedo

Originally from Guatemala, Adriana is a development economist specialising in climate adaptation finance to build climate resilience – more specifically, around the practical implications of mobilising climate finance. She has five years of research and project experience, with a rich focus in Rwanda.

Adriana has advised on the development of key strategic documents to support Rwanda’s low carbon development in the agriculture, infrastructure and finance sectors – particularly on mainstreaming climate change into existing policies and strategies and, in turn, on feasible actions using practical tools for more efficient implementation efforts. She has done this working for various clients, including the National Government, the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), PwC, the Department for International Development (DFID) and the European Commission, which entailed working with Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs), donors, country governments (national and sub-national), private sector organisations and NGOs.

Key activities include: multi-sector consultations, adhoc TA for government officials, policy and strategy assessments, conducting economic and financial appraisals, conducting climate risk assessments, conducting value for money assessment for climate resilience to better guide donor expenditure, collation and collection of qualitative and quantitative data, and desk-base research. This has contributed to key research outputs, leveraging of futher finance, increased local knowledge on current and future climate risks, and improvements in local collaborations and cooperations.
