MY World, an ongoing survey of people’s priorities, has used offline, mobile phone and online surveys to collect over 7.5 million responses from 194 countries. This report examines the characteristics of the respondents in the MY World survey and the socio-demographic biases that have emerged, in particular those relating to gender. Using the experiences of initiatives that have attempted to leverage technology in data collection, including the MY World survey, the report then discusses the scope and challenges for the 'data revolution' going forward.
