What happens to inequality as countries raise themselves out of poverty? 

Despite a great deal of progress, our world is very unequal. And according to some indicators, it is becoming increasingly so.

This paper looks at how inequality evolves in relation to growth. It focuses on the primacy of policy processes in shaping the nature of growth and its impact on inequality.
