The purpose of these Key Sheets is to provide decisionmakers with an easy and up-to-date point of reference on issues relating to the provision of support for sustainable livelihoods.

This sheet looks at inland fisheries, offering an overview of the main issues regarding the resource. There is discussion of over-exploitation of fish stocks and the need for regulation. The livelihoods of millions of people are dependant upon fisheries and this paper outlines how important fisheries are to poor people around the world. The paper continues and gives policy reccomendations which would ensure the close alignment of fiseries policies with anti-poverty initiatives.
