Growth with resilience. Towards a joint G20-Commonwealth-Francophonie agenda

Research report

Written by Dirk Willem te Velde

Research report

Both Commonwealth and Francophonie Heads of Government and Ministers of Finance have highlighted the potential for the two associations to play an important role as a forum through which members and non-members of the G20 could work together on global economic policy issues. In the past three years the relationship between the Commonwealth, the Francophonie and the G20, notably through the G20 Development Working Group (DWG) has strengthened considerably through annual Commonwealth and Francophonie policy outreach meetings.1 These meetings provide particularly important opportunities to discuss the development challenges of the poorest, smallest and most vulnerable (PSMV) members of the Commonwealth and Francophonie and provide opportunities for their concerns and priorities to be brought to the attention of the G20.
