This is the conference report from the DFID-hosted conference on the future of international development, 'Eliminating World Poverty: Building Our Common Future', which was held on 9 and 10 March in London.
The conference sought to tackle a range of pressing issues. The changing global context, the world's increasing interdependence and the importance of remaining committed to poverty reduction were cross cutting themes. Specific sessions were devoted to the global economic down turn, climate change, food security, conflict and state fragility, institutional reform and the MDGs and post-2015 framework.
The conference report brings together the key issues and headline messages presented and discussed at the conference. It is structured around the nine conference sessions, ending with a conclusion that summarises the main themes and identifies common threads.
