This Land portfolio overview identifies 24 DFID land programmes and describes how they are designed, where they work, their current projects and assesses their performance in 2015.
The review provides findings for staff designing, managing and implementing programmes, with a focus on how programmes have strengthened tenure security for women both through land registration programmes and alternative approaches such as legal empowerment.
It finds that most programmes have performed well against expectations, and that building design on a good understanding of local practices and the political context is key to success.
