Developing Countries: Victims or Participants Their Changing Role in International Negotiations

Book/book chapter

Written by Sheila Page

Book/book chapter

Multilateral negotiations are increasingly prevalent in the international system, this is largely due to the growing inclusion of developing countries. This paper questions how effectively developing countries can negotiate and whether they can obtain tangible benefits from their participation. It goes on to look at what lessons can be learned from past negotiations and how the developing world can go further in projecting its voice in the future.
