As the climate talks take place in Lima, Peru, this briefing shows that government subsidies to fossil fuel exploration currently dwarf their parallel pledges to the Global Climate Fund. Developed country governments continue to tip the balance in favour of fossil fuels despite the scientific consensus that the vast majority of known oil, gas and coal reserves must stay in the ground if we are to avoid dangerous climate change.
