Change in administrative structures: a case study of Kenyan agricultural development

Research reports

This report is concerned with the need to fashion new and more appropriate administrative approaches in underdeveloped circumstances, where rising expectations, limited organisational capabilities and severe shortage of resources characterise the bureaucracy.

The question is whether the bureaucratic system is the most appropriate type of public organisation given the central role of the administrative arm in a developing country.

This case study will try to establish what is the most appropriate administrative structure for a country aiming at agricultural development.
