The evidence-based policy in development network (ebpdn) is a 2000 member strong online sharing platform for professionals engaged in research, policy and practice around evidence-informed policy. The network was set up in 2005 as part of the DFID funded Civil Society Partnership Programme, in partnership with 19 civil society organisations.
This report uses a light touch approach to review the development and functions of the ebpdn. Using key informant interviews and a survey of members, the authors outline the role ebpdn plays for its members and its successes and challenges in building a community, sharing resources and amplifying member's voices.
After reviewing the value created by the network, the authors suggest eight options for the ongoing management of the network.
