Stephanie Sweet

Stephanie is a Research Associate with the Development and Public Finance programme, as well as a technical assistance advisor to the World Bank, donor agencies, and international NGOs. She specialises in taxation and public financial management, as well as political economy.

Stephanie has previously worked with Deloitte, DAI, and the US Treasury, and has advised more than 20 national governments on taxation and other public policy issues – in Latin America, Africa, Europe, and Asia. She has also contributed to and written many papers on public finance and taxation.

Stephanie is a doctoral candidate in international relations at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), studying the role of geospatial analytics to improve tax compliance. She holds a MA in international economics and development from Johns Hopkins SAIS as well as a MS in taxation and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Texas A&M University.
