Kiyoshi Kodera is a Research Associate within the Development and Public Finance programme at ODI.
Throughout his professional career, Mr. Kodera has accumulated broad and in-depth knowledge and experience on international economics, finance and development issues. He has a wealth of senior international experience and expertise working with multilateral development banks at senior management and at board level, and in bilateral agencies. From 2010 to 2016, Mr. Kodera was Vice-President of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Before that, he had a distinguished tenure as corporate manager of the World Bank (Executive Secretary of the Development Committee of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund). Mr. Kodera was also the World Bank’s International Development Association (IDA) deputy for Japan, served as a board member of the World Bank, Inter-American Investment Corporation and the African Development Bank, and was the World Bank Country Director for Central Asia. Mr. Kodera has also served as the Deputy Vice-Minister for International Finance in Japan.
