Karen is ODI’s Chief Press Officer and leads our media liaison work, connecting journalists with researchers across ODI’s seven research programmes.

Karen was previously a communications professional in UK central government, based in Whitehall, working closely with Ministers in the foreign and global affairs, international development and business and trade ministries.

Since then she’s worked with consultancies and foundations with a global affairs and global development remit, including development finance and economic and trade policy.

Karen is interested in how big ideas spread and get taken up – with media an important factor.
