Jim is a Senior Research Associate with more than 30 years development and humanitarian experience. He was a member of DFID's senior leadership team for 9 years including as Director for UN, Conflict and Humanitarian affairs, when he chaired the OCHA Donor Support Group.

He has held senior positions in the Cabinet Office and FCO. His interests include reform of the humanitarian system, the role of the private sector in humanitarian crises, conflict and links between humanitarian and development agendas.
