Dr Ján Michalko is a Research Fellow at the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion team at ODI. He is a qualitative researcher with more than 10 years of experience in the international development sector, with particular expertise in gender and political participation, intersectionality and youth empowerment.

At ODI Ján supports the ALIGN platform, which brings together global research on patriarchal gender norms and transformative change. He leads collaborative research projects which focus on norms in local politics and political parties, gender equitable and feminist political masculinities, and feminist foreign policy. Ján holds a PhD in Gender Studies from SOAS, University of London.
