<p>Hanna is a Research Officer with a special interest in historical approaches to humanitarianism, regional organisations, humanitarian diplomacy, and the relationship between statecraft and aid. She is conducting research on countries such as China, North Korea, South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Myanmar, and the Philippines.</p>

Hanna is a Research Officer with a focus on foreign policy, humanitarian policy, conflict and security, natural disasters, and business and markets especially in East and Southeast Asia.

Hanna worked in financial services prior to joining HPG. She completed her BA in Asian Studies in Germany and the Republic of China (Taiwan), and holds an MSc in History of International Relations from the London School of Economics with a special focus on Chinese security policy formulation during the Cold War. She has also spent time in the US, Japan, France, Spain, People’s Republic of China, and South Korea for studies.
