Darius Nassiry

Darius Nassiry contributes to ODI's policy research on energy and climate change focusing on sustainable infrastructure, financing of climate commitments under the Paris Agreement, leveraging private capital for climate investments, and implications of new technologies for developing countries.

Darius has spent nearly 10 years as an investment banker in the energy and utilities sector in New York, London and Tokyo. He designed a public-private renewable energy fund with the Norwegian Investment Fund for Developing Countries (Norfund), and conducted research on leveraging finance for clean technology as a visiting fellow with the Center for Global Development.

He served as advisor to the Director-General and head of international cooperation at the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI). Earlier he led country teams at the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) responsible for investment programs in Asia and launched the agency's climate change initiative. Darius began his career as a U.S. diplomat in Mexico and Kenya.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Carleton College and a Master’s degree in Public and International Affairs in Economics from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University.
