Anil Pokhrel

Anil Pokhrel is a Research Associate in the Risk and Resilience programme. He works on disaster risk management and climate change adaptation programmes. He investigates multi-hazard risk factors and provides policy and technical support. Anil has a Master’s Degree in Environmental Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.

Anil investigates multi-hazard risk factors and drivers of risk for actionable decision making, at national and sub-national levels. He leads needs and risk assessments to help understand the potential of disaster and climate change impacts on sectoral investments. Anil helped draft the Government of Nepal’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Strategic Action Plan: 2018-2030 and DRRM National Policy, 2017.

Anil previously worked with the World Bank/GFDRR, Asian Development Bank and ISET-International/Nepal. He worked on multiple projects and technical assistance on disaster risk reduction, and management and climate change in multiple countries in South Asia, East Asia, Central and West Asia.
