Adrian Hewitt is a Senior Research Associate of ODI. In the 1990s he was Deputy Director of the Institute; he founded and ran the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Overseas Development until 2010 and he was Head of the ODI Fellowship Scheme until 2012. His research interests include aid and technical cooperation, trade policy and negotiations, commodities, international economic development and broad areas of political economy; his specialist areas have included Africa (including francophone and lusophone countries) and small island states, while his current work is more focused on east and south-east Asian countries and their relations with China, regional bodies and the world economy, with occasional forays into niche subjects such as cyber-security and developing countries and monetary policy in small states.
