The Overseas Development Institute has been short-listed in five categories in the Global Go-To think tank competition. ODI is a finalist in the race for the world’s top 50 think-tanks, the top 25 in Europe, and also for the top 10 global thinks tanks in international development, international affairs, and social policy.
The Global Go-To think-tank competition is sponsored by the Think-Tank and Civil Societies Program of the Foreign Policy Research Institute, an independent institute for international affairs, based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Describing the awards, the FPRI said:
The growth of public policy research organizations over the last two decades has been nothing less than explosive. The challenge for the new millennium is to harness the vast reservoir of knowledge, information and energy that exist in public policy research organizations so that it can support self-sustaining economic, social and political progress in every region of the world.
