World leaders are called upon to commit to a Global Social Protection Strategy, as part of a new five-point plan to end extreme poverty published today (8 July) by the Chronic Poverty Research Centre (CPRC).
The Chronic Poverty Report 2008-09 - Escaping Poverty Traps is an international report focused on developing countries. It proposes solutions to chronic poverty traps, with an emphasis on tackling exclusion, extending social protection and building assets. It is the second major report produced by the CPRC, a global partnership of universities, research institutes and NGO partners from countries including Bangladesh, India, South Africa, Uganda and the UK.
