​Tanzania has had strong and consistent economic growth in recent years and is a rising investment hotspot. However, there are concerns about the quality and longevity of this growth. Without upgrading agricultural productivity and a move towards industrialised and productive services, growth may not be sustained with risks for future job generation.

REPOA and the DFID-ESRC Growth Research Programme (DEGRP) convene a high-level workshop to explore the challenges and potential solutions for economic transformation and growth in Tanzania. It brings together leading international experts and national policy-makers to discuss their contribution to economic transformation through the agricultural, financial and manufacturing sectors. This workshop explores some of the findings from DEGRP projects, within the policy and research context.
