Description
The World Bank report 'Informality: Exit and Exclusion' suggests that to reduce informality in the Latin American and Caribbean region, policymakers should focus their efforts on improving the conditions that promote formal sector productivity and growth and address the barriers, costs and benefits for informal firms and workers to participate in the formal sector.
At this ODI, DFID and World Bank event, two of the lead authors of the report presented their findings which experts from the World Bank and ODI then discussed. The event will also attempted to identify lessons from the Latin American experience that could be applied elsewhere in the developing world.
