Improving social assistance policymaking processes in Indonesia
Since 2010, AusAID have been supporting the Indonesian government's social protection work, primarily through the National Team for Accelerating Poverty Reduction (TNP2K) under the office of the vice president.
TNP2K is expected to complete its work before the next Presidential election in 2014, whilst AusAID has decided to significantly scale up its social protection programme.
Against this backdrop, AusAID Indonesia's social protection and knowledge sector programme jointly commissioned ODI to undertake a review of policymaking processes and the role of knowledge within and across the main government agencies working specifically in the social assistance sub-sector.
This workshop - with primarily AusAID staff in Indonesia served to present and validate preliminary findings and co-create recommendations for consideration by AusAID
