Description

2017 marks 20 years since the UK’s Department for International Development (DFID) became a separate government department. To coincide with this anniversary, and the publication of new ODI research on ‘The politics of the results agenda in DFID’ (by Craig Valters and Brendan Whitty), this high-level public event reflects on the history and future of DFID, and the UK government’s approach to international development.

This event plays host to representatives from the three major political parties and development experts. Our expert panel focuses on how DFID has changed over the past 20 years, and discusses what shape and focus the department should take in the future.
