China conference: jointly addressing challenges to humanitarian aid
Description
The conference is jointly organised by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) the Humanitarian Policy Group (HPG) and the Chinese Academy of Governance (CAG). It explores different humanitarian models and discuss how China and the international community can jointly seize opportunities and overcome challenges.
It brings together approximately 100 representatives from relevant Chinese government agencies, academic circles, think tanks, the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, as well as foreign experts and representatives from international humanitarian organisations.
The conference is the first in a series of regional conference in rising donor countries, which aims to complement the World Humanitarian Summit (WHS) that will take place in Istanbul in May 2016 by ensuring that the perspectives and experience of these countries are given the recognition they deserve.
