Description

With an ever-increasing number of disasters, more severe and complex than before, the global humanitarian system’s capacity to respond has been stretched to the limit. Yet NGOs are increasingly forced to compete over limited resources – rather than collaborate and share information and learning.

The Emergency Capacity Building (ECB) project was initiated in 2003 to help address these challenges and help build capacity at a local level through collaboration.

Did it work? What were some of the challenges, surprises and lessons from the project? What is the future of humanitarian capacity building? Join us on 27 June to hear about and discuss the practicalities of working in partnership to build capacity in emergencies.

The event will launch a Network Paper: Humanitarian capacity-building and collaboration: lessons from the Emergency Capacity Building Project.
