Voluntary carbon markets and the poor
Research aiming to identify ways in which the voluntary carbon markets might be made more beneficial for the poor. Specific research themes include:
- Identifying the opportunities and constraints that the market presents to the poor, by comparison with markets under the Kyoto Protocol mechanisms;
- Determining appropriate institutional arrangements for carbon offset projects and
- A comparative study of emerging greenhouse gas standards and their implications for the poor.
