UNICEF Kazakhstan: Impact of Economic Crisis on Child Wellbeing

The overall objective of the Study is to support the Government of the Republic of Kazakstan in generating policy responses to mitigate the impact of the financial and economic crisis on child wellbeing and prevent a slowdown of progress made towards the acheivement of the MDG's.

The Study will address the scope and magnitude of the economic crisis as it unfolds and measure its potential impact on child wellbeing in Kazakstan in view of responding to the impact in a more effeective, targeted, pro-poor and inclusive manner. The study will focus on the multi-dimensional aspects of deprivation and inequalities since the expected impact will be beyond income poverty and other material deprivation, to also include health, education and social protection.
