The Initiative Pauvrete et Environment (IPE) Mali is working with the Government of Mali to adopt poverty and environment as key factors to consider in her economic and budget  planning processes towards the achieving the Millennium development goals and other international conventions it has signed up to.

IPE with the support of UNDP has contracted ODI to provide training services to enable them achieve this goal by strengthening the capacity of decision makers to promote the use of green accounting for sustainable development in Mali and also their capacities to promote integration of environment issues in the processes of statistics elaboration and budget management in Mali.
